Описание
Weathered marble columns, broken stone blocks, and an arched passage stand among the ancient ruins of Ephesus in modern Turkey. The surviving architecture evokes the world of the early Christian church, where the apostle Paul ministered for an extended season and where the gospel confronted the religious and commercial life of a major Roman city. Ephesus later received the New Testament letter to the Ephesians, calling believers to unity in Christ, spiritual maturity, and steadfast faith. The city is also named among the seven churches in Revelation, where Christ commends endurance while calling the church back to its first love. This image serves well for teaching on biblical archaeology, Paul’s missionary journeys, the Book of Ephesians, Revelation’s seven churches, and the historical setting of the early church.
